American born pop-singer, songwriter, actress and dancer, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta better known as Lady Gaga is famous for her appalling, attention-grabbing performances and eccentric dressing. Born in New York City to Joseph Anthony Germanotta and Cynthia Louise (Bissett)on March 28th 1986,Gaga has both Italian and half French ancestry.
At very early year of her life, Gaga started attending Convent of the Sacred Heart. By age 17, she gained early admission in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. However, in her second year, Gaga dropped out from school in order to pursue a musical career.
Gaga came into the limelight in summer 2005 when she recorded two songs with artist Grandmaster Melle Mel for an audio book that accompanied a children’s novel called “The Portal in the Park”. In 2006, a brief partnership with talent scout Rob Fusari resulted in the creation of her stage name after her Queen Song “Radio GaGa”.
GaGa’s hard work paid off when her first studio album called “The Fame” hit the U.S. stores in August, 2008. A follow-up EP, “The Fame Monster”was released in November 2009. Her second full-length album “Born This Way” was released in 2011 followed by Artpop in 2013.
Lady Gaga has also been known for her philanthropist work. She established Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) for youth empowerment; donated $1 million to the victims of Hurricane Sandy and $202 million to fight HIV and AIDS. Her achievements include five Grammy Awards, thirteen MTV Video Music Awards.
