Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio nominated for five academy awards and ten Global Globe awards, is an American actor as well as a film producer. He has won 2 Golden Globe awards, one for the best actor in Drama for the Aviator in 2004 and the other for the best actor in musical or comedy for the wolf of Wall Street in 2013.


Leonardo DiCaprio is known to start his career with his appearance in television commercials and after that in recurring roles in television series. The major movie debut he gained was in “This Boy’s life” in 1993. His early movies were “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” (won a nomination for academy awards), The Basket Ball Diaries and Romeo + Juliet. The star got international fame with a hit and highest grossing movie at the time, the Titanic made by James Cameron.

He has been receiving critical appreciation of his work for long and now he also owns a production company known as Appian Way Productions.

He belongs to Los Angeles and is the only child of an underground comics artist and a legal secretary. The boy was named Leonardo as it is said that when his mother was pregnant, she was looking on a Leonardo Da Vinci painting, when her baby first kicked. He used to live with his mother because his parent got divorced when he was only one year old.
